Free-Range Drama Farm

theatre education without the additives.

This is such a unique thing that we're creating here, that we've been having a tough time finding a word to define it. From the very beginning, I was calling it an "internship program", but I'm starting to realize that those words conjure up a pretty specific meaning for a lot of people - that of working in an existing professional institution - which the Drama Farm doesn't really fit. Apprenticeship doesn't really fit either, since that implies working under a professional, rather than doing self-guided work.

To some extent, we're really starting a theatre company, entirely run by students - but then, does "theatre company" imply that our focus is on production, when really it's on providing an educational experience?

What do you think? Is what we're doing an internship? A company? Do you have a better word for it? Give us your ideas!
